1. Introduction

Vanta Calc ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Picasso Digital from South Africa and runs the website at https://www.vantacalc.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit the Site, which service providers process it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Calculator inputs

The values you enter into a calculator are computed by code in your web browser. They are not transmitted to us and we do not store them.

2.2 Contact form

When you use the contact form, we receive the email address you give us, your message, the topic you choose, and — if you provide them — your name and the calculator page you are writing about. We use these only to read and reply to your message. To limit spam, the form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, and a one-way hash of your IP address is stored for up to one hour to rate-limit submissions.

2.3 Analytics (with your consent)

If you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner, Google Analytics 4 collects:

  • Device information: browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and device type.
  • Usage data: pages visited, calculators used, time on page, referring URL, and navigation patterns.
  • Approximate location: country and region derived from your IP address. We do not request precise geolocation.

If you decline, analytics cookies are not set.

2.4 Error reports

When a page error occurs, technical details about the error (browser, page URL and stack trace) may be sent to Sentry. Request bodies, query strings, cookies, headers and form input are removed before a report leaves your browser.

2.5 Local storage

Your browser's local storage holds your preferences (such as theme and cookie choice) and recent calculations. This data stays in your browser; you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

3. Cookies and Consent

On your first visit, a consent banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the Site's data in your browser, which shows the banner again, or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Essential storage needed to remember your consent choice and preferences cannot be disabled.

4. Service Providers (Processors)

These providers process data on our behalf. Each is bound by its own privacy policy.

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — Aggregate page views, calculator usage and country/region reports derived from IP address. Only after you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner. Privacy policy
  • Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — Error monitoring. Reports contain technical error data with request data, cookies, headers and form input removed before sending. When a page error occurs. Privacy policy
  • Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc.) — Bot and spam protection on the contact form. Only on the contact page. Privacy policy
  • Amazon Web Services (Amazon Web Services, Inc.) — Website hosting (S3, CloudFront) and delivery of contact-form messages (Lambda, SES) in the us-east-1 region. On every visit, and when you submit the contact form. Privacy policy

5. How We Use Information

  • Operate and maintain the Site.
  • Reply to messages sent through the contact form.
  • Understand which calculators are used and improve them (with analytics consent).
  • Find and fix errors, and protect the Site from abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for personalised advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

6. How We Share Information

We share information only with the service providers listed in section 4, and with authorities where required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

7. Data Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Contact-form messages are delivered to us by email and are not published. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Third-Party Links

The Site links to third-party websites, such as the sources cited on calculator pages. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form and choose "General". You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. International Transfers

Vanta Calc is operated by Picasso Digital from South Africa. The Site is hosted in the United States, and several of the providers in section 4 process data there. If you visit from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in these countries, which may have different data protection rules.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other regions with comprehensive data protection laws, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies and on our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the Site for everything else.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, and the business purpose. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To make a request, use the contact form.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
